COVID19 Restrictions to be eased from 1st June in NSW

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced today that COVID19 restrictions will be eased in NSW from 1st June. Sydney pubs, bars, cafes, and restaurants will be allowed to seat up to 50 patrons, as part of the next step in relaxing the NSW’s COVID19 restrictions.

The decision comes as an attempt to restart the economy and incentivise the tourism and hospitality sector. This week, the NSW government also announced that restrictions on regional travel will be eased, allowing people to travel within NSW.

Updated COVID19 Restrictions: Restaurants, pubs, cafes and clubs allowed to have 50 patrons

Restrictions will be relaxed although venues will need to meet certain conditions to prevent the spread of the disease:

50 patrons be in the venue at one time
4 square-meters per patron must be respected
A group of a maximum of 10 people can booked at once
All customers must be seated

The premiere said that many things will be very different and that even though COVID19 restrictions eased in NSW, strict rules will still be in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Updated COVID19 restrictions on travel and holidays

NSW residents will be able to take a holiday anywhere in NSW from next month, with intra-state travel restrictions to be lifted from Monday 1 June 2020.

Venues in the regional area will also be encouraged to review their booking policies to allow travellers to easily cancel their trip if they have any symptoms.

A number of caravan parks and camping grounds will be open from 1 June 2020, but travellers should call ahead and confirm bookings. Ski parks and national parks will also be open during the winter season.
